Main Street Promenade Will Ring in the Holidays with Festivities and Caroling

Main Street Promenade is once again ringing in the holiday season with a beautifully decorated tree, Victorian carolers, Holly Trolley rides and other special festivities for families. The activities are part of Hometown Holidays, an annual tradition coordinated by the Downtown Naperville Alliance.

Timed to coincide with the Grand Illumination, in which Santa flips a switch and turns on more than 300,000 twinkling lights throughout the downtown, the illumination of the Promenade’s beautiful 15-foot holiday tree will take place in the archway of the Main Street Promenade at 55 S. Main Street on Friday, November 25, following the Friends of Little Friends Electric Lights Parade.

The Classic Ring Carolers, an award-winning group of Victorian singers, will entertain visitors with their captivating four-part a cappella harmonies from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. They will perform near the holiday tree and while strolling in and out of various Promenade shops. The carolers’ repertoire includes 75 contemporary, classic, and novelty arrangements.  Their delightful holiday medley begins with “My Favorite Things” and ends with Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” and a 1950s rock version of “Blue Christmas.” Hot chocolate, donated by Naperville Dental Specialists and General Oral Health Care and Innovative Orthodontic Centers, will help keep everyone warm.

The carolers will return to Main Street Promenade on Saturday, December 10, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., delighting shoppers with their tunes in various retail stores.

For the convenience of shoppers, Main Street Promenade will also be sponsoring free Holly Trolley rides from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25 and Saturday, December 10. The trolley will transport visitors to seven convenient pick-up and drop-off locations downtown.

At the tree lighting last year, families gathered at Main Street Promenade to enjoy the holiday songs performed by American Idol Finalist Gina Glocksen and a local barbershop quartet. This year, the Classic Ring Carolers will entertain everyone with contemporary, classic, and novelty arrangements.

The Classic Ring Carolers have been making music together since 1989. Their music includes contemporary, classic, and novelty arrangements of over 75 songs. They will perform at Main Street Promenade in downtown Naperville on Friday, November 25, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and again on Saturday, December 10, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
